WORKSHOP: Slurp & Sketch with Magikal Megan: Session 4: Journaling & Word Art

Slurp 'n Sketch Sundays with Magikal Megan is an experience for those who want to learn more about drawing, but who don't want to sit through a super serious class on the subject. Part stand up comedy, part sing-along (with thematic playlists), each 90 minute session will include a demonstration of drawing principles and techniques to take you from basic doodling to successfully building texture and dimension in your work, all while leaving room to relax, chat, and interact with friends.

Session 4: Journaling & Word Art--Now that you can render work in 4 dimensions, it's time to add the 5th dimension: YOU. Explore how to incorporate text with drawing, and how rendering images as a form of journaling (instead of words) can get you out of your head when you've gotten stuck.

WORKSHOP - CREPE PAPER BOTANICAL ART

In this class, you will learn how to create and style a delicate paper poppy as well as go home with supplies to make two more flowers on your own. Your take-home bag will include a template and information about the anatomy of the flower art that will be covered in the course. Learn about paper types and how to shape and style your petals.

Your Instructor - “Aislinn is a Product Designer by day and a self-taught crepe paper botanical artist by night. She first tried making paper flowers with a kit after seeing the finished art on one of her favorite blogs, and although she was not immediately enamored, she tried a few more times before completely falling in love with the process.  Paper botanical art combines a love of flora with patience and layering to create stunning, durable flowers that are sure to cheer any room.”
